Ed Staub & Sons Petroleum, Inc. will safely supply the best product, value and services available in the petroleum industry to its customers and related convenience store facilities. Ed Staub & Sons was founded in 1952 based on the principles of customer service, strong work ethic and integrity while attaining a reasonable profit. We strive to serve our customers - the residents of the rural areas of Northeastern California, Central and Southeastern Oregon, and Southern Idaho.

As the ones who deliver value, our employees are the company's most important asset. Through training, innovation, and teamwork, these service oriented personnel aim to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction possible.

Company History

Ed Staub & Sons Petroleum, Inc.'s beginning goes back to 1952 when Walt Staub became a wholesale distributor for Standard Oil Company of California in Bieber. Ed Staub worked for his father and bacame the wholesale distributor in Alturas, California in 1959. In 1965 the Cedarville operation was added and in 1977 the Lakeview, Oregon operation was put into operation. In 1980 the company became an independent petroleum jobber and was incorporated in the state of California, as Ed Staub & Sons Petroleum, Inc.

During the '80's, Ed Staub & Sons expanded both geographically and in product scope. The company expanded in the cardlock industry, and in 1983 the Texaco Distributionships in Alturas and Lakeview were purchased. The following year, the CalGas propane plant became part of the company. In 1985 the company purchased the Chevron Distributorship in Silverlake and in 1986 the Mobile plants in Alturas and Cedarville. In 1988 the company purchased the Chevron and Texaco brands in Tulelake, which were formerly known as Ezell Oil.

With purchase of Ezell Oil came a Texaco Convenience store in Merrill, Oregon. The store division saw the addition of nine stores during the '90's. Propane was added to the product line in Tulelake in 1990 and in Alturas and Silverlake in 1991. In 1995 the propane business was greatly expanded with the start up of Redmond, Oregon propane facilities. The company also started marketing efficient clean burning oil stoves in the '90's. In 1998 Ed Staub & Sons purchased Leo Jones Oil Company, Inc. in Fall River and Susanville, California. Week's Oil bulk plant and convenience stores in Burns, Oregon were added to the company in the year 2000. The Crescent, Oregon bulk plant was added in 2001 and in 2003 Ed Staub & Sons further expanded it's propane facilities by adding John Day, Oregon, La Grande, Oregon and Nampa, Idaho.

Ed Staub & Sons has enjoyed and endured immense growth over the years and we look forward to an exciting future.
